Holiday cottage in the heart of the Limousin
The living area is open plan with a large inglenook fireplace with a wood burning stove on one wall and the kitchen dining area at the opposite end. The kitchen is well equipped, satisfying those who like to make the most of the wonderful fresh produce available locally and the dining table will comfortably seat eight.
The shower room is also on the ground floor.
Upstairs the two bedrooms are light and airy, with high dormer windows looking out at the view across the valley.
As a recent improvement the barn has been converted into cosy accommodation for an additional 4 people. There is a comfortable sofa bed in the ground floor living area with a spiral staircase leading to two further single beds on the mezzanine level. The shower room is compact but features a large shower area beautifully finished with limestone tiles. Undeniably part of its charm are the low doorways, exposed stonework and restricted headroom under the eaves.
This additional sleeping accommodation is only let out for larger groups in conjunction with the main cottage. It is already proving very popular, separately accommodating a group or family of 4 with its own shower room, allowing some degree of independence. Cooking and mealtimes are still shared in the main cottage.
Outside there is a small sheltered South facing garden attached to the property with a graveled patio area which is partially shaded by an Ash tree. Several steps lead down from the lane to the house and garden.
With modern convenience
Traditionally built with substantial granite walls and now renovated with the highest specification double glazing and modern roof insulation, Les Geais can easily maintain a comfortable temperature in both the depths of winter or the heat of summer.
